Dell Servers Information Collection Procedures
Dell PowerEdge iDRAC 7 or 8

Login to your iDRAC by navigating a web browser to your iDRAC IP address.

Expand the Overview and server tabs on the left hand side navigation menu.

Select troubleshooting under server and then SupportAssist tab across the top of the GUI.

Click Edit Collection Data and make sure the Hardware and RAID Controller Log check boxes are checked.

Click on Export SupportAssist Collection, allow the collection to complete and save locally on your computer to send to support.

Fill out this form to send to M Global.
Dell PowerEdge iDRAC 9

Login to your iDRAC by navigating a web browser to your iDRAC IP address.

Click on Maintenance which will expose the SupportAssist navigation tab.

Click on Start a Collection and ensure that the data that you would like to include is checked off prior to proceeding.

Make sure that you save locally if you plan to send the logs off to M Global for review.

Dell EMC Storage Information Collection
EMC VNX

Launch a web browser and enter the IP address of one of your SPs to launch Unisphere.

Select the VNX system that you want to work with from the dashboard or from the Systems drop-down menu, which can be reached by clicking on System.

On the right hand side in the panel titled Diagnostic Files, select “Generate Diagnostic Files - SPA” and proceed through the menus to continue.

Repeat this process for SPB as we want the SPCollects from each SP.

After about 10-15 min, on the same panel, select “Get Diagnostic Files - SP A”
When the file generation has completed, there will be a new file with the naming convention: <Array Serial Number>_SPA_<date/time (GMT)>_Code_data.zip

Save to your local computer on the right side of the dialog box.

Select the file to be transferred from the left side.

Repeat steps 4-7 to gather the SP B SPCollect.

Fill out this form to send to M Global.
Hint: Sort by descending order of date to find the most recently created SPCollect.
Isilon Gathers
Log in to array using SSH to IP address
Run command - isi_gather_info
By default, a log gather tarfile is written to the /ifs/data/Isilon_Support/pkg/ directory
Save the file from the array using FTP
Send to M Global using this form.
Go to Help > Diagnostics
Click Start Gather
